CDI introduces a Battery Backup Medical Power Supply
Re: BBU Medical Power Supplies
Huntington Beach, California, Tuesday, May 19, 2006 - The SMM350-BBU Series of multiple output Medical power supplies offer a high-quality power source for the most demanding medical device applications. The SMM350 series features power factor correction (PFC) and a wide input voltage range of 90-264VAC operation for global operation. These models have been designed with a conservative de-rating and design margins to ensure reliable operation in the most demanding medical system environment.
The 390 watt multiple output SMM350 medical power supply is available as either a single or dual output power supply. The high power main output will deliver 350 watts with any voltage from 24 to 48 volts in 0.1V increments. The second channel (V2) will deliver 50 watts with any voltage from 5 to 24 volts in 0.1V increments.
The SMM350 medical power supplies offer the following features:
- Nickel-Metal Hydride (NiMH) intelligent logic battery charger with low voltage cutoff
- Worldwide medical safety approvals, including UL2601, CSA 22.2, No. 601.1, CISPR11 and EN60601 CB Scheme
- Power Factor Correction (PFC) to meet demanding global requirements
- Compact power supply footprint at mere 5.0" W x 7.5" L x 2.38" H which includes self-contained fan cover
- Remote sense, AC Power Fail, and DC Power Good signals are standard
- Over-current, over-voltage & over-temperature protection
- Dual AC fusing on both lines
A battery backup power supply is similar to a regular dc power supply with the exception that it can continue to supply power from batteries for a specified period after the ac line fails.
